HHS requires free birth control

Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Heath and Human Services announced it will require health insurance companies to cover some women’s preventative drugs and services. This means that insurance plans beginning on or after Aug. 12, 2012, will cover costs for services including FDA-approved birth control, voluntary sterilization, breastfeeding support and HIV counseling.
